My 3 Favorite Legging Brands

Since discovering leggings about six years ago I have been a firm believer in the form fitting pants. I’m going to share with you my three favorite legging brands that wont break that bank. My love for leggings begun after starting an at home exercise program. I started out wearing whatever I had around that was comfortable which included sweatpants and thin cotton leggings which I also wore to bed. After staying consistent with my workouts I started to yearn for better clothing and looked for workout specific bottoms when I would pop into a Marshall’s or TJ Max’s. I scored an array of great leggings over the years and ended up with some great pieces and some cheap ones. At first I would based my selections off of color, pattern and price. Once I tried a few different brands I started to recognize which ones I preferred and would keep en eye out for that brand when I went shopping. I now know what style I like, what performs better for different activities and which brands I prefer. I’ve seen a lot of brands that look incredible but I’m not willing to spend $100+ on a pair of leggings, so all the leggings on this list are under $70. I’m going to share my top three favorite leggings brands that I wear for all of my workouts and outdoor adventures.

Maven Thread

I found Maven Thread on Instagram after seeing some fitness girls I followed wearing their headbands while working out. I was having trouble with sweat dripping down my face and into my eyes at the time so I figured I’d give these headbands a try. Once I got them and wore one through a workout I was hooked. They kept the sweat out of my eyes and were soaked by the end of a workout. After a year of buying more headbands I decided to try their leggings and I fell in love with them. I wear Maven Thread leggings for hiking, backpacking, working out, walking, and traveling. The fabric is buttery soft and they have the cutest colors and unique designs. The leggings have pockets on both sides which is key for me when hiking and the fabric is thick and durable. These have a high waist with top seam and an elastic band. They are so comfortable you can do anything in them! The high waist band holds the tummy in and stays put even during the most intense activities. Most of the leggings run around $58 but they always have discounted pieces in their sale section and they gave me a discount code for my followers to use to save 15% off! Use code JENNAH15 at checkout! One other awesome thing about this company is it is women owned small business out of Utah and they donate 5% of all sales to three charities! For size reference I wear a size medium in Maven Thread.

CNC

I came across this brand on Instagram as well years ago and have since become a dedicated follower. The company is woman and veteran owned and their mission is to empower all women. They really thought of everything when it comes to designing leggings. They have the most incredible fabric options and offer all different types of legging styles including pockets, seamless, yoga and maternity. I have mostly seamless from them but I do own a couple of pairs with pockets. Their seamless leggings are on another level from most other brands I’ve tried. They have built in contouring around the back of the legs and under the booty to help lift it up. The ribbed seamless top gives a smooth transition around your belly and eliminates any muffin top. About 3 years ago I bought two pairs of their seamless ombre leggings in grey and teal and absolutely loved them. I wore them to hike in, during workouts, running errands, around the house, to bed, everywhere. This year I purchased two more of their seamless leggings, one a tie dye pair and the other a limited edition Halloween tie dye pair. Let me tell you they are my most comfortable leggings and I live in these. I typically wear these for home workouts, running errands, or lounging at home. I also love this brand because they give back to the troops and support our military. They have such great pieces they typically sell out fast when they come out with new releases or limited editions so I would follow them on Instagram to be the first to find out about new products. Most of their leggings run around $62 but they have lots of sales on holidays and Black Friday. For size reference I wear a size medium in CNC.

Marika

I found this brand by accident after purchasing a pair from Marshall’s or TJ Maxx on one of my treat myself trips. I purchased them because they were my favorite color, teal, my size, and were under $20. Once I started wearing them they became my go to pair for day hikes. These leggings are made from a slightly thicker fabric than most and have a soft suede like feel to them. They also have large pockets on each leg perfect for my phone, my knife and pepper spray during solo hikes. The thicker fabric keeps me warmer on early morning hikes when the temperatures are still cooler. They have held up to scraping against brush, sitting on rough rocks and backpacking multiple nights in the backcountry. I loved them so much I ended up looking at the tag for the brand so I could get some more. I googled the name and came across Marika’s website and found out the legging is from the Balance Collection. I’ve since ordered multiple pairs and usually get them when they are on sale. These leggings are the most affordable around $28. They have a wide range of styles offered at a variety of prices on their website, anywhere from $16-70. The most recent pair I ordered from them is called the Wanderer and I scored them for only $28! I still keep an eye out for them at discount stores like TJ Maxx or Marshall’s and grab them whenever I find them in my size. I wear a size small in these leggings. They sell some of their most popular pieces on Amazon but they have a wider selection on their website so I’ve linked both below.

I promise you wont be disappointed with any leggings from these three brands.
